Webroot, the market leader in next-generation endpoint security and cloud-based collective threat intelligence, today announced the release of Webroot Unity API (Unity). Managed Service Provider (MSP) security administrators can use Unity to securely connect services and data sets to Webroot’s SecureAnywhere® Business Endpoint Protection Global Site Manager (GSM) console. With Unity, MSPs can easily extract data and tailor, integrate and automate their endpoint offerings for better productivity, improved financial control, customized alerting and reporting, and increased profitability.
Because Unity uses representational state transfer (REST) architecture, administrators only have to set up their secure credentials once to authenticate connection. Once connected, MSPs are able to extract data from their consoles as desired. This on-demand instant access to data and services allows MSPs using Unity API to:
Unity also aids MSPs in lowering their costs through the integration and automation of technologies and business processes. Currently geared towards MSPs, Unity will serve as the API for Webroot’s threat intelligence and shared application services platform, and provide an easy integration point for all products and services.
"Webroot SecureAnywhere leads the next-generation endpoint market, and with Unity we are increasing its power to protect users and help partners expand their businesses," said Hal Lonas, CTO at Webroot. "Unity automates tasks that our MSP customers, including Mytech, had to previously perform manually – which ultimately allows them to reduce their endpoint security operating costs and increase profitability. Additional benefits include improved granularity and reports customization, as well as Unity’s integration into in-house systems and Remote Monitoring and Management and Professional Services Automation systems."
"Webroot’s commitment to integration is unmatched among our vendor partners," said James Motz, MOC manager at Mytech Partners. "Since deploying Unity, our technicians have been able to cut the time to deploy new services to our customers by at least 50 percent. The efficiency and accuracy of automating the process across our customer base has paid huge dividends to our managed services delivery and overall security compliance."
At present, Unity is a complimentary service. MSPs interested in learning more should contact their Webroot Channel Account Manager or Webroot Support, or access the Webroot Unity API Community, a one-stop location for everything related to Unity.
